These terms cover your use of the aboutwine.app website. Your use of the Aboutwine iOS app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which you can also open from the app’s paywall.

The website

This site provides information about the Aboutwine app and lets you subscribe to our newsletter. Content here — including wine guides and pairings — is for general information and enjoyment, not professional advice.

The app and subscriptions

Aboutwine is free to download and use. Aboutwine Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple: payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, it renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency.

AI-generated content

Parts of the app — the sommelier’s answers and the cards written for labels we don’t hold in the catalog — are generated by an AI model and are clearly marked. They can be wrong. Treat them as a knowledgeable friend’s opinion, not as fact, and never as advice about health, allergens or whether something is safe to drink.

Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to disrupt it, scrape it abusively, or submit other people’s information without permission.

Drink responsibly

Aboutwine is for adults of legal drinking age. Nothing here encourages excessive or irresponsible drinking. Please enjoy wine responsibly.

Intellectual property

The AboutWine name, logo, and original content on this site are ours. You’re welcome to link to us and quote us with attribution.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep information accurate, but we can’t guarantee it’s complete or error-free.
